Task : Cyberbullying

Grade: 10

Time – 45 minutes 

Class profile   (a brief description of the class) a class of 11 students, Their age range is 15- 16. Most of the students are visual, kinaesthetic and audio learners.  They enjoy performing communicative  activities. They need to improve speaking and listening  skills.

Aims for the lesson (language/skills/other aims) Main aim --To   develop   listening  and  speaking  skills for   critical thinking, forming opinions. By the end of the lesson the students will             suggest ways young people can behave ​ positively in cyberspace.            consider what motivates young people to participate in online cruelty.           recognise that cyberbullying can have serious consequences Materials: ·         Laptop/LCD projector or overhead projector, screen, Internet access ·         sheets of newsprint or construction paper ·         Handouts, cards, whiteboard ·         http://www.digizen.org/resources/cyberbullying/films/uk/lfit-film.aspx Stage and time Aim Procedure Interaction Brainstorming  8 min.  To look at online dangers T  ask whole class several questions  Do you understand what cyberbullying is? Can you give examples of cyberbulling?  Ss  then give a few of their answers each to the teacher who ​writes them up on the board and leaves them there for the rest of the ​lesson. T-Ss S-S Ss-T Lead in 3min To raise the motivation T  talks about the video, which she is going to show them T-Ss Pair work 10 min To identify cyberbullying and it’s consequences. T  turn on the video.. encourage the students  to start thinking as creatively as ​possible about issues surrounding cyberbullying and will help to give ​them some new language and ideas around it.            Each pairs point out their opinions and identify the problem T-Ss S-S Ss-T Cooperative group work 15 min. To increase  critical thinking. T  turn on the video agein. Ask S  to close their eyes as they listen, and to imagine that they are a student at Joe’s school. Read aloud from the handout, Welcome to the Web Site that Makes Fun of Joe, then discuss the following:   1. How did it make you feel to hear about this incident?   2. What do you think motivated the students who created the Web site?    3. What about those who added comments or e-mails and those who chose not to tell anyone about what was taking place?       4. What would you have done if you received a link to the Web site or a message inviting you to visit and join in? T –Ss S-S S-S Ss-T Feedback 6 min. Forming opinions. Groups make  discussion: to suggest ways young people can behave ​ positively in cyberspace and  respect the confidentiality of others and avoid stories that will offend or embarrass their persons.  Aim: For students to practise using of adverbials in  different ways

Resources:  Computer, projection, one paper copy for each student in the class.

Procedure

 Before  the lesson

1. Select the excersises about  Why do we use adverbials? 

and open or download it on your screan for projection in class.

2. Give the students copy of rules and examples of edverbials.

During the lesson

3. Ask students to work in pairs and Choose the answer which contains the full adverbial without any extra words.

4. Ask students to work in small groups turn on the projector and shou them the santances, which they shoud fill in with missing adverbials from previous exersise.

5. Ask students Put the adverbials into the correct groups, than students compare their works.

 Procedure

Before the lesson
1. Select a text of no more then 100 words,  removing all adverbs.

During the lesson
 2.  Give the text to students and set a general question  so students get the gist of the story.
3. Ask students If the text understandable.
4. Ask students to work through the text...
5. Ask students to compare their texts.
